Serenity Funeral Home Memphis Obituaries: In Memoriam of Robert Curtiss Coleman

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Curtiss Coleman, lovingly known as 'Pig', who departed this life on December 13, 2023, at Methodist South Hospital in Memphis, TN. He was 70 years young.

Born on October 31, 1953, in Marshall County, MS, to the late Hammer Chairs and Nancy Coleman, Robert grew up surrounded by a loving family that instilled in him strong values and a deep faith. He was a proud graduate of Sandflat High School (1973) and later pursued higher education at Northwest Community College in Senatobia, MS, and Rust College in Holly Springs, MS.

Robert's passion for life extended far beyond his academic achievements. A master mechanic with years of experience, he took great joy in working on automobiles. His other interests included Karate, Baseball, and Football, showcasing his competitive spirit and love for sports.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Robert was a devoted family man. He leaves behind his loving wife, Elnoria Coleman of Horn Lake, MS; one son, Curtis Coleman of Memphis, TN; three daughters, Christiana Oliver (Antonio) of Whitehaven, TN, Tyronzia Tate (Lonnie), and Ashley Coleman both of Horn Lake, MS; two brothers, Chester Smith of Benton County, MS, and Lonnie Coleman (Cathlean) of Olive Branch, MS; six sisters, Delorie Stephen and Alice Anderson both of Memphis, TN, Lorine Robinson, Louise Coleman, Annie Chairs, and Maxcine Archbell all of Marshall County, MS; nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

The family invites friends to pay their respects during visitation on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home, located at 1638 Sycamore View Road. A funeral service will follow at Hudsonville C.M.E. Church on the same day at 11:00 a.m., with interment to take place in the Church Cemetery.
